COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING

*Note: The deadline to submit Community Project Funding (CPF) requests for FY25 was April 26, 2024. Please contact sean.kearns@mail.house.gov if you would like to receive updates on future opportunities to submit CPF requests.

All communication with the office (including meeting requests) for CPF requests must come directly from the entity who would receive the funds being requested and who would directly benefit from the project.

We do not allow outside consultants or lobbyists to take part in our process – i.e. no outreach, meeting requests, submission of documents or projects, or any direct engagement to our office for CPF requests, or the projects won’t be considered. Lobbyists and consultants can work directly with the entity to prep any required docs, consult, provide materials, etc.

As the Representative of California’s 44th Congressional District, Congresswoman Barragán is committed to ensuring that our federal dollars are spent wisely and in the best interests of her constituents.

Community Project Funding (CPF) is an initiative begun in 2021 (for Fiscal Year 2022) that set aside a percentage of federal dollars to allow Members of Congress to request funding for projects in their communities. CPF is separate from federal grants and funding apportioned by formula, and is governed by strict requirements to promote transparency and prevent waste, fraud, and abuse.

Projects are restricted to a limited number of federal funding streams, and only state and local governments and eligible non-profit entities are permitted to receive funding. Additional information on CPF rules and requirements is available here.

You can view the CPF requests made by Rep. Barragán for the upcoming fiscal year, as well as previously submitted projects and awards, by clicking on the links at the top of the page. In compliance with House Rules and Committee requirements, Rep. Barragán has certified that she and her immediate family have no financial interest in any of the projects she has requested.
