California’s 44th Congressional District includes the communities of Bellflower, Carson, Harbor City, Harbor Gateway, Lakewood, Long Beach, Lynwood, Paramount, Rancho Dominguez, San Pedro, South Gate, West Carson, and Wilmington. It features some of the most vibrant business, cultural, and historic communities in Southern California.

The Port of Los Angeles – America’s Port – is a vital and critical component of California’s 44th Congressional District. It is an economic engine that impacts every single Congressional District in the United States. An indispensable part of our country’s economy, the port has moved record-setting volumes of cargo in recent years and supports over 3 million jobs annually.

Outside of the Port, California’s 44th district is home to numerous educational institutions, historic tourist areas, and entertainment venues. They include: The Banning Mansion Museum, Dignity Health Sports Park, California State University Dominguez Hills, Vincent Thomas Bridge, Plaza Mexico, Rancho Dominguez Adobe Museum, Goals Soccer Center, Los Angeles Harbor College, East Los Angeles College – South Gate Campus, Korean Friendship Bell, Warner Grand Theatre, Rancho Los Cerritos, Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, Los Angeles River, Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library, LA Kings Iceland Skating Rink, Los Angeles Maritime Museum, and more.

The demographics of California’s 44th district is a reflection of the rich diversity of Southern California., The district has large populations of Latinos, African Americans, Italian-Americans, and Asian-Americans, as well as the largest population of Croatian Americans in California.
