Service Academy Summer Program Information

U.S. Naval Academy – Annapolis, MD

Summer Seminar

If you are currently in your junior year of high school and considering the Naval Academy as your college of choice, you may benefit from applying to their Summer Seminar. During the six-day session, you will have an opportunity to see firsthand what the Academy has to offer through its academic, athletic, extracurricular activities and leadership training programs.

Session 1: June 1 – June 6 | Session 2: June 8 – June 13 | Session 3: June 15 – June 20


Summer STEM

If you are currently a rising 9th through 11th grader who is considering a career as a coder, game developer, designer, or robotics engineer, you may benefit from applying to the Naval Academy’s Summer STEM Program. You will have the opportunity to work with students from all over the country as you test your problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration skills.

Rising 9th Graders: June 3-8 | Rising 10th Graders: June 10-15 | Rising 11th Graders: June 17-21


Visit USNA

Students interested in applying to the United States Naval Academy, along with parents, and educators, are encouraged to attend one of two daily briefings. These briefings will last approximately 1 hour and will include an informative discussion led by an active-duty Navy or Marine Corps admission officer. No appointment is necessary to attend these briefings.

U.S. Air Force Academy – USAF Academy, CO

If you are currently a rising senior in high school who is considering applying to the U.S. Air Force Academy, Summer Seminar allows students the opportunity to experience the academy, live on campus, and experience the life of a cadet for four days.

During Summer Seminar, you will be assigned an Element Leader who will serve as your mentor and guide. In addition, you will have the opportunity to live in cadet dormitories, eat at the cadet dining facility, explore academic facilities and research labs, and participate in a variety of workshops.

Session A: June 4-7 (In Person) | Session B: June 11-14 (In Person) | Session C: June 17-19 (Virtual)

U.S Military Academy (West Point) – West Point, NY

If you are currently a high school junior interested in applying for the U.S. Military Academy, their Summer Leaders Experience (SLE) is a week-long immersion into the academic, military, and social life of a West Point cadet. At SLE, you will explore West Point from all angles, including their high-tech educational facilities, team-building athletic activities, and realistic military training.

SLE gives you a taste of the character, determination, commitment to excellence, and leadership required to be a cadet at the U.S. Military Academy (USMA). SLE provides many activities and experiences that will challenge you mentally and physically as well as give you insight into whether USMA is a good fit for you.

Experience the U.S. Military Academy Firsthand: West Point is located approximately 50 miles north of New York City in the Hudson Valley. All prospective cadets are encouraged to visit the U.S. Military Academy at West Point to experience the historic campus and get a feel for cadet life.


U.S. Merchant Marine Academy – Kings Point, NY

The United States Merchant Marine Academy is a federal service academy that educates and graduates leaders who are committed to serve the national security, marine transportation, and economic needs of the United States. Though the USMMA does not offer a summer program, they do have a graduate program:

The Graduate Certificate Program offers focused education to individuals with completed advanced degrees or those who want the advanced knowledge in special topics but do not want to fully commit to the full 36-credit Master of Science in Marine Engineering (MMarE) Program.

U.S. Coast Guard Academy – New London, CT

For rising seniors in high school interested in applying to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the Academy Introduction Mission (AIM) is a one-week summer program where you’ll immerse yourself in Academy life. AIM will help you to discover whether the Academy experience is truly what you want from college and whether you have what it takes to succeed.
