WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, during Immigrant Heritage Month, Congresswoman Nanette Barragán (CA-44) introduced a resolution to recognize the immense contributions of immigrants to our country and society.

“Immigrants built America and continue to make incredible contributions to our country’s economy, institutions, and culture,” said Rep. Barragán. “Immigrants work tough jobs in construction, farming, and manufacturing, and many, including our DREAMers have thrived as doctors, nurses, lawyers, and students. Immigrants work hard, pay their taxes, and make our country great. I am proud to work with my colleagues in Congress to uplift their voices and advocate for their priorities. In response to increased anti-immigrant rhetoric in our politics, it is critical Congress send a message to the millions of immigrants who love this country and came here in search of their American Dream – home is here.”

The following Members cosponsored the resolution: Rep. Eleanor Holmes-Norton (DC), Rep. Shelia Jackson-Lee (TX-18), Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (MI-05), Rep. Ted Lieu (CA-36), Rep. Barbara Lee (CA-12), Rep. Andre Carson (IN-07), Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13), Rep. Ritchie Torres (NY-15), Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04), Rep. Delia Ramirez (IL-03), Rep. Katherine Clarke (MA-05), Rep. Raul Grijalva (AZ-07), Rep. Shri Thanedar (MI-13), Rep. Juan Vargas (CA-52), Rep. Nikema Williams (GA-05), Rep. Grace Napolitano (CA-31), Rep. Andrea Salinas (OR-06), Rep. Jim McGovern (MA-02), Rep.
