LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, Congresswoman Nanette Barragán (CA-44) released the following statement after former President Donald Trump was found guilty on all counts in the New York hush money trial.
“Today, our justice system worked as intended: a jury of 12 citizens of New York reviewed the evidence before them, applied the law as instructed, and came to a unanimous verdict. This is a process that has played out millions of times since the founding of our country,” said Rep. Barragán. “House Republicans have shown again and again they will ignore the American people’s business to stand with the former president and now convicted felon – Donald Trump. While a former President’s conviction is nothing to celebrate, it is an affirmation that in the United States, no one is above the law.”
