SBCC & Ring collaborating to donate 1,000 video doorbells to Wilmington Residents
Wilmington, Calif – Today, Congresswoman Nanette Diaz Barragán, applauded the partnership between L.A. County’s Strength Based Community Change (SBCC) and Ring to improve community safety by donating 1,000 video doorbells to Wilmington residents.
“We all share the goal of making our communities safer for the people who live here. SBCC has been working to strengthen our Los Angeles County communities, like Wilmington, for almost 50 years. We welcome the collaboration with Ring and their use of modern technology to help increase public safety and strengthen the connections between neighbors,” Congresswoman Barragán said. “Wilmington is a community in the South Bay whose needs deserve more attention. I thought this was a good opportunity for Ring to show a commitment to the neighborhood by increasing safety through access to its technology. It is important for corporations with a presence in Los Angeles County to join with local community organizations to improve public safety and wellbeing.”
SBCC and Ring have launched a community donation program in the spirit of SBCC’S mission to ensure the well-being of families and improve the health, safety, and success of communities at large.
Asked to help connect Ring with a local community and partner, Congresswoman Barragán encouraged Ring to work with SBCC to serve the people of Wilmington. She attended the launch of the program at SBCC.
“SBCC thanks Congresswoman Barragan for facilitating the collaboration between SBCC and Ring. As a result of the Congresswoman’s commitment to equity, Wilmington residents will have access to the same technological advantages as other more affluent communities,” SBCC Executive Director Colleen Mooney said.
All costs will be covered for the installation of 1,000 Ring video doorbells within Zip code 90744.
