WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Nanette Diaz Barragán congratulated the Port of Los Angeles on receiving $18.2 million in federal funding to increase rail yard capacity.
The grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation is designated to add 11,500 feet of track so the Port can modernize and add cargo capacity to the existing railyard.
“I thank the Department of Transportation for making this money available to the Port of Los Angeles. Increasing railyard capacity will mean fewer idling trucks and less air pollution in the surrounding communities,” Congresswoman Barragan said.
