Rep. Barragán Joins 164 Democratic Colleagues in Co-Sponsoring Assault Weapons Ban

WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Representative Nanette Diaz Barragán (D-San Pedro) joined 164 of her Democratic colleagues yesterday in co-sponsoring the Assault Weapons Ban of 2018. Representative David Cicilline’s (RI-01) bill would restore the prohibition on the sale, transfer, manufacture and importation of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

“Assault weapons are weapons of war and have no place in our neighborhoods, our schools, or civilian life.” said Rep. Barragán. “Since the original Assault Weapons Ban expired, we have seen more and more mass-shootings using these tools of destruction. We have to restore common sense and ban these weapons in order to protect our children, our families, and our communities.”

More details about Representative David Cicilline’s (RI-01) bill can be found here.
